Psalm 112 (Vulgate 111)

Alleluia reversionis Aggei et Zacchariae
Praise ye the Lord

Beatus vir qui timet Dominum

Blessed [is] the man [that] feareth the Lord,

in mandatis eius volet nimis

[that] delighteth greatly in his commandments.

potens in terra erit semen eius

His seed shall be mighty upon earth:

generatio rectorum benedicetur

the generation of the upright shall be blessed

gloria et divitiae in domo eius

Wealth and riches [shall be] in his house:

et iustitia eius manet in saeculum saeculi

and his righteousness endureth for ever.

exortum est in tenebris lumen rectis

Unto the upright there ariseth light in the darkness:

misericors et miserator et iustus

[he is] gracious, and full of compassion, and righteous.

iucundus homo qui miseretur et commodat

A good man sheweth favour, and lendeth:

disponet sermones suos in iudicio

he will guide his affairs with discretion.

quia in aeternum non commovebitur

Surely he shall not be moved for ever:

in memoria aeterna erit iustus

the righteous shall be in everlasting remembrance.

ab auditione mala non timebit

He shall not be afraid of evil tidings:

paratum cor eius sperare in Domino

his heart is fixed, trusting in the Lord.

confirmatum est cor eius non commovebitur

His heart [is] established, he shall not be afraid,

donec dispiciat inimicos suos

until he see [his desire] upon his enemies.

dispersit dedit pauperibus

He hath dispersed, he hath given to the poor;

iustitia eius manet in saeculum saeculi

his righteousness endureth for ever;

cornu eius exaltabitur in gloria

his horn shall be exalted with honour.

peccator videbit et irascetur

The wicked shall see [it], and be grieved;

dentibus suis frement et tabescet

he shall gnash with his teeth, and melt away:

desiderium peccatorum peribit

the desire of the wicked shall perish.
